Cropped

This weekend I tackled clear bra removal on my BMW M5. The bra had come with the car, and over the past two years had become dingy looking. It had been on the car since at least 2009.

I had removed the small pieces of film on the front of the side mirrors first as a test. Under the hot sun and using a hair dryer, the film peels away fairly easily. Sometimes it comes off pretty clean, but other times there is a good amount of adhesive left on the paint.

I bought some 3M spray to remove the adhesive. You can also use WD-40 and a plastic razor blade, but I wasn’t comfortable rubbing that hard on the paint. With the spray you use a towel. It took some time and elbow grease, but eventually it all came off.

Rain interrupted the final step of wash, polish and wax. So I don’t have a sparkling after picture just yet. When I’m able to do I’ll add it.
