Hello and thank you for visiting! Let’s get right to it with the first post.

Last night my wife Gabriele and I had a very nice dinner at Bonefish, in the Kingstowne area of Alexandria. We went a little on the late side to avoid a wait — no dice, packed and they estimated 60 minute wait. Luckily there was a counter area that ran the length of the bar, and we got two seats there. Although the bar was noisy and crowded, we got a good meal and good service as well.

Wine tip — 2006 Bridgeview Pinot Noir, Oregon. Gabe and I don’t drink much white, and we wanted something to go with her sea bass and my trout. Reasonably priced at $34, it was fruit forward but not simplistic, not too light-bodied, very enjoyable for the price. We tried to find it today at Total Wine and they don’t carry, so can’t speak to retail cost.

As I said it was very crowded, and we practically ended up eating with the couple next to us, who turned out to be great company. Bob and Carol, I don’t know if you’ll ever see this but thanks for the good company!
